Guru Dr. Ramadevi Ravindran
'Adal Kalaimani' & 'Nattuvanga Vishradha'
Guru Dr. Ramadevi Ravindran is a distinguished dancer, teacher, and choreographer, Founder of the Kalaikoodam School of Indian Classical Dance. Her journey began at the tender age of 4 at Jawahar Bal Bhavan, Chennai, under the guidance of Smt. Pushkala and Sri Srinivasan Sir. To pursue her deep passion, she joined the TamilNadu Govt Music College, taking her training to a professional level under legendary Gurus Kalaimamani Tanjai Smt. Jayalakshmi Arunachalam Pillai, Kalaimamani Smt. Chandra Dhandayuthapani Pillai, and Kalaimamani Smt. Indra Rajen in the pure Tanjavur and Pandanallur styles. She is also a trained South Indian Folk Dancer under Madurai Mani.
Dr. Ramadevi was awarded the titles 'Adal Kalaimani' and 'Nattuvanga Vishradha' with Distinction from the Govt Music College. She actively conducts dance workshops (theory & practice) and Nattuvangam training. Her performance history is extensive; between 1982 and 1993, she represented Tamil Nadu in the Republic Day Parade in New Delhi. She has performed in prestigious Sabhas, accompanied her Guru in productions by the legendary duo Natraj Shankunthala, and played lead roles in dramas like "Parvathi Kalyanam" and "Krishna Leela."
She began teaching at age 16 as a camp coach and later at Kalaikottam and NatyaKalalayam. Currently, she promotes dance in the USA by teaching in NJ schools, performing at temple festivals in NJ & MD, and participating in the New York Dance Parade. Uniquely, she is also a licensed Behavior Therapist (RBT) working with children on the Autism spectrum, bringing exceptional patience and understanding to her teaching.

👘 Dress Code
- Female students are encouraged to wear a Bindi or Kumkum prior to attending class.
- All students must wear the designated class uniform.
- Requirement: Uniform must be a custom-made Churidar or Salwar Kameez.

Academy Policies
- Students are expected to attend all scheduled classes.
- No make-up class or fee adjustment will be provided for student absences.
- If a class is cancelled by the teacher, a make-up session will be scheduled.
- If a student misses the make-up session, rescheduling depends on the teacher's availability.
- Recurring monthly payments are highly recommended.
- If not enrolled in recurring payments, fees must be paid by the 15th of each month.
- A late fee of $10 will be charged for payments made after the 15th.
- The teacher reserves full rights to introduce additional policies, as deemed appropriate, in accordance with Bharatanatyam tradition.
- In the event of any unacceptable conduct or incident, additional disciplinary policies may be applied at the discretion of the teacher.
